Principles
- Distinguish documented fact, historical estimate, eyewitness testimony and scholarly interpretation.
- Label Nazi euphemisms and perpetrator terminology.
- Never infer an individual fate from aggregate history alone.
- Never generalize one testimony to all victims.
- Do not give exact numbers where scholarship supports only a range.
- Never use graphic material as decoration or engagement bait.
- Do not assign collective guilt to an entire present-day nationality.
- Explain other Nazi persecutions distinctly without collapsing them into the genocide of European Jews.
- Date and source facts that can change over time.
Corrections and updates
When a time-sensitive figure changes, a source is revised or an error is found, the page should be updated and the verification date recorded. The goal is reliable history, not the concealment of genuine uncertainty.
